1: Why should I buy from Story in Art? We strive to provide optimal quality at an affordable price that is sustainable and friendly to the environment. We also work extremely hard to satisfy our customers. This starts with stunning art and premium (museum quality) materials including the papers, wood, mats, backer boards, adhesives and glass. We believe art should be the focus (not reflections on the glass) with the best possible representations of color and detail. To achieve this we use Tru Vue Museum Glass and GroGlass Art Glass the absolute best materials to eliminate distortion and minimize reflections while optimizing color transmission and clarity. The quality of the Museum and Art Glass are outstanding and has a “Wow” factor when seen in person. Museum Glass has a light transmission of >97% and limits reflections to <1%. Art Glass has a light transmission of 99% and limits reflections to <1%. Furthermore, both Museum Glass (99%) and Art Glass (>70%) provide UV protection. This ensures your art will last for decades when not hung in direct sun light. Direct sunlight will degrade art with UV protection but the rate is slowed by 2-3X (depending on amount of UV protection and light intensity). Most online framers use clear plexiglass unless otherwise specified that does not provide reflection control nor UV protection. See the difference in images below. Comparison of Glasses
The PEFC certified wood means additional controls in management, growth and harvesting to ensure the highest ecological, social and ethical standards. This minimizes our impact on the environment. Furthermore, acid in alpha cellulose materials (made from trees) can leach out over time and discolor art work. Most framers will use this material for mats because it is lower cost. Alpha cellulose is now buffered to limit acid migration but it cannot be considered conservation / museum quality and may eventually damage the art. As a result, we use cotton (all natural and renewable) core and backer papers and polystyrene to ensure no acid can ever reach the surface of the art work. These are the same techniques utilized by the Library of Congress for preservation.
Lastly, when you purchase from Story in Art 20% of the profits from every purchase are donated to environmental and wildlife research, natural land and sea preservation and education. Some of this research is conducted by Story in Art staff. This will ensure a sustainable and rich future for our children.
2: Can I get my art work framed? Yes, e-mail us and we will provide a custom quote. Select any frame moulding from Larson Juhl and we will make every effort to accommodate your request.
3: Does Story in Art ship outside the US? Yes to most countries. Contact us via e-mail to get a custom quote.
4: What is the cancellation and return policy? Purchase with confidence having 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you are not satisfied with your purchase you can return it within 30 days of order date. Once we receive the returned shipment, we will process your refund immediately. If your product is damaged during shipment, we will replace it at no charge within 3 weeks. Please note the purchaser is responsible for shipping costs for returned items unless there is a defect in quality. It is also recommended that the purchaser obtain shipping insurance in case of damage during return shipment. Just contact us to receive return authorization and instructions to process your return.
5: When will my order ship? Loose and matted prints ship within 2-3 business days. Custom framed art ships within 4 weeks. We will send you a confirmation e-mail when it ships and provide your package tracking information. If for any reason you order is delayed beyond that, we will contact you to provide a remedy.
6: Where is Story in Art located? Story in Art is located in Rockville, Maryland. Printing and assembly of art work is done in the Rockville.
7: Who can I contact for a custom framing or size order not shown on your website? Just send us an e-mail and we will usually respond same day.

10: What color is the mat board? The mat board is black unless otherwise specified in the product description.
11: Can I obtain a custom mat color? Yes, just e-mail us and we will work with you to find your preferred color.
